Don't miss this opportunity to take part in Tyneside Welcomes’ first cook-along! Details are at the bottom of the page.
We are delighted to introduce Nour and her daughter Leimas, who came to live in Tyneside from Damascus, Syria. Nour will show you how to make three of her favourite family recipes and you will learn about Syrian culture and traditions. She is looking forward to sharing her love of Syrian cooking with you.
Nour learned how to cook from her mother from an early age and later she would send her home-cooked food to the local orphanage and homeless people.
She began to cook professionally in Newcastle supplying her family delicatessen Damascus with home cooking.
Although Damascus is now closed, Nour's next venture will be a catering van serving her delicious Syrian shawarma sandwich, falafels and much more!
You will be shown how to make yalangi, fattoush, and muhammara.
All the recipes are vegetarian/vegan and gluten free options are included.
You will be able to share comments and ask questions during the demonstration.
We can't wait!!
Once you have successfully registered for the event you will receive a list of the ingredients you will need to make the dishes featured, the recipes and the Zoom link, via email.
